About the program in Samoa

Doing a volunteer program in Samoa provides a unique & worthwhile experience and is a great way to gain new experiences and skill sets while learning about the local culture and people. Samoa is never fails to make a huge impact on anyone lucky enough to travel beyond the better known destinations. Samoa is in fact the Heart of Polynesia and is very rich in its Pacific culture. Land and seascapes are absolutely stunning and diverse, ranging from true rainforests to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Spread over primarily 2 islands, Upolu (on which the capital Apia is located), and Savaii which is larger but less populated.

You can join the program from a minimum 2 weeks up to 4 weeks. You need to arrive on the Sunday before the start date of the program where you will be picked up from Faleolo International Airport (APW) Apia in Samoa between 06.00 and 23.00. You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your accommodation. Departure day is Saturday of your last week.


You will stay in a single gender shared room together with other participants. There are 3 meals included from Monday to Friday and 2 meals per day on weekends.


Throughout your stay in Samoa, you will have the support and guidance of our the team of local coordinators of our partner who will provide you with assistance and help you with any thing that you may need. The coordinators will provide support in all aspects of your projects starting from arrival to departure.


Participants need to be 18 years or over to join

You need to have your own travel insurance

The first week of your program the Culture Week, this will ensure that you get the most out of your stay by learning about the local culture and customs. After this you will start with your volunteering for which you can choose from different projects!

By spending some quality time in this beautiful country during the introduction week will help you to understand the culture of the Samoans, their simplicity and also to even get a closer view to the natural beauty of this splendid location. After the the Culture Week you will start with your volunteer work.

There are different projects available and you can build your own program on the application form where you can choose which project you want to join and you can also combine different projects and create your own volunteer program!

Culture Week

You will start your program in Samoa with the Culture Week. The Culture week will help you to get the best of Samoa by getting to know the Samoan culture and way of living. During this week you will also learn the Samoan language, learn to cook native meals and visit some of the sights in Samoa.

Teaching Project

Volunteer as a teacher in schools in Samoa where you will teach basic English to children in pre-schools and primary schools in Apia by playing games with them and arranging fun activities so that the children’s excitement to learn is stimulated.

Help with construction and repair works in Samoa. You will stay at a nice village near a beautiful beach. Through this program you will work side by side with locals. You do not need special skills to take part in project.
